Equipment rental terms
These terms apply to equipment rental for both consumers and businesses. Please read them before sending your inquiry.
Effective from 14 October 2026
1. Introductory provisions
These terms govern the short-term rental of audiovisual and video equipment, including accessories ("equipment"), between LiveTechPro s. r. o., company ID (IČO) 09724907, VAT ID CZ09724907, registered office Žitavská 629/48, Liberec XI-Růžodol I, 460 01 Liberec, Czech Republic, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem, Section C, Insert 51591, email info@livetechpro.cz ("lessor"), and the customer ("lessee").
The lessee may be a consumer or a business. Provisions marked "for consumers" apply only to lessees who are consumers; provisions marked "for businesses" apply only to lessees acting in the course of their business. Matters not covered by these terms are governed by Czech Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code, in particular the provisions on lease and short-term lease of movable property (Sections 2201 et seq. and 2321 et seq.). Any different arrangements in the inquiry confirmation take precedence over these terms.
2. Inquiry and formation of the contract
- By sending an inquiry via the website, by email or otherwise, the lessee expresses interest in renting equipment. The inquiry is not binding and can be cancelled free of charge until it is confirmed.
- The lessor reviews the inquiry and either declines it or emails the lessee an inquiry confirmation listing the equipment, dates, price, deposit and hand-over arrangements.
- The lease contract is concluded when the inquiry confirmation is delivered to the lessee. If the confirmation differs from the inquiry, the contract is concluded only once the lessee accepts the changes by email or by taking over the equipment.
- The lessor is not obliged to accept an inquiry. The contract is concluded in Czech or English and the lessor archives it electronically.
- The costs of means of distance communication (internet, phone) are borne by the lessee and do not differ from the standard rate.
3. Price and payment
- Catalogue prices are per day of rental including VAT; the price excluding VAT is shown for businesses for information. The binding price is the one stated in the inquiry confirmation.
- Rent is charged for each day or part of a day. A day means 24 hours from the agreed pick-up time.
- Delivery, installation, an on-site technician and other services are charged separately as stated in the inquiry confirmation.
- Rent is payable no later than at pick-up, by bank transfer or by another method stated in the confirmation. The lessor may invoice businesses with a due date.
4. Deposit
- The lessor may require a refundable deposit. The amount is stated in the inquiry confirmation and the lessee pays it no later than at pick-up.
- The deposit secures the lessor's claims under the lease, in particular unpaid rent, compensation for damage and rent for late return.
- The lessor returns the deposit after the equipment has been returned and checked, within 5 business days at the latest. If the lessor sets off any claims against the deposit, it informs the lessee of their amount and reason in writing.
- If the lessee does not pay the deposit, the lessor is not obliged to hand over the equipment.
5. Hand-over and return
- Equipment is handed over in Liberec or at another place stated in the inquiry confirmation. At pick-up, the lessee presents an identity document.
- A hand-over protocol is drawn up listing the equipment and accessories, serial numbers, condition and any defects, possibly with photos. The lessee must check the equipment at pick-up.
- The lessee returns the equipment at the agreed time and place, complete, clean and in the condition in which it was received, allowing for normal wear and tear.
- The condition of the equipment on return is recorded in the protocol. If the check cannot be done on the spot, the lessor carries it out within 2 business days and informs the lessee of the result.
- The lessee backs up any data on returned recording media before returning them. The lessor deletes the data after return and is not liable for its loss.
6. Use of the equipment
- The lessee uses the equipment properly, in line with its manual and purpose, and protects it against damage, moisture, dust, loss and theft.
- Without the lessor's consent, the lessee may not let a third party use the equipment, modify, repair or open it, or change its software. Use outside the Czech Republic requires the lessor's consent.
- If the lessee discovers a defect or damage, they inform the lessor without undue delay and stop using the equipment if further damage could occur.
- The lessee is responsible for the content of recordings and for respecting third-party rights, in particular the consent of people being filmed.
7. Liability for damage, loss and theft
- From pick-up until return, the lessee is liable for damage to, destruction, loss and theft of the equipment, unless they prove that the damage was not caused by them or by persons they allowed to access the equipment. The lessee is not liable for normal wear and tear or for defects existing at pick-up.
- In case of damage, the lessee pays reasonable repair costs as invoiced by the service centre. In case of destruction, loss or theft, the lessee pays the usual price of comparable equipment at the time the damage occurred.
- For businesses: the lessee also pays lost rent for the time needed to repair or replace the equipment, up to a maximum of 14 days.
- The lessee reports theft without undue delay to the Police of the Czech Republic and to the lessor, and provides the lessor with confirmation of the report.
- The equipment is not insured for the benefit of the lessee. We recommend considering your own liability insurance.
- For businesses: the lessor is not liable for lost profit or indirect damage (such as a cancelled event) caused by a defect or unavailability of the equipment; its liability is limited to the amount of rent. This limitation does not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or to harm to health.
8. Late return
- For each day or part of a day of delay, the lessee pays rent according to the price list.
- The lessee also compensates the lessor for any damage caused by the delay, such as the cost of arranging replacement equipment for other customers.
- If the lessee fails to return the equipment within 3 days after the agreed date and does not respond to requests, the lessor may report the matter to the Police of the Czech Republic.
9. Cancellation
An inquiry can be cancelled free of charge until it is confirmed. Once the contract has been concluded, the lessee may cancel the rental by email; the time the message is delivered to the lessor is decisive. The cancellation fee, as a share of the total rent, is:
- cancellation more than 7 days before the start of the rental: no fee,
- cancellation 7 to 2 days before the start of the rental: 30%,
- cancellation less than 48 hours before the start of the rental, or failure to collect the equipment without cancelling: 50%.
If the lessor cannot hand over the equipment (for example due to a fault or force majeure), it informs the lessee without undue delay and offers replacement equipment or refunds everything the lessee has paid.
For consumers: no cancellation fee applies if the consumer withdraws from the contract within the period under Article 10.
10. Withdrawal from the contract (for consumers)
- If the contract was concluded at a distance (via the website or by email), the consumer may withdraw from it without giving a reason within 14 days of its conclusion.
- If the consumer expressly requests that the rental begin before this period expires and then withdraws, they pay a proportionate part of the rent for the period up to the withdrawal.
- If the consumer withdraws during the rental, they return the equipment without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the withdrawal. The consumer bears the cost of returning the equipment and pays a proportionate part of the rent for the days they used it.
- The withdrawal can be sent by email to info@livetechpro.cz or by post to our registered office, for example using the model form below.
- We refund payments within 14 days of the withdrawal using the same means of payment, unless agreed otherwise.
11. Defects and complaints
- The lessor hands over the equipment in working order. The lessee reports any defect without undue delay by email, ideally with a description and a photo.
- The lessor remedies the defect, replaces the equipment with comparable equipment, or grants a reasonable discount on the rent for the time the equipment could not be used properly. If the defect prevents use entirely, no rent is payable for that time and the lessor refunds any amount already paid.
- The lessor handles complaints without undue delay, within 30 days at the latest, and confirms to the lessee in writing when a complaint was made and how it was resolved.
- Damage caused by the lessee or improper use of the equipment is not a defect.
12. Out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes
Consumers have the right to out-of-court resolution of disputes arising from the contract. The competent body is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), Central Inspectorate – ADR Department, Gorazdova 1969/24, 120 00 Prague 2, adr.coi.cz. A petition can be filed within one year of the day the consumer first exercised their right with the lessor. Compliance with consumer protection obligations is supervised by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority, www.coi.cz.
13. Governing law and final provisions
- The contract is governed by the law of the Czech Republic. This does not deprive consumers of the protection afforded to them by the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of habitual residence.
- For businesses: disputes are subject to the court with local jurisdiction over the lessor's registered office.
- The lessor is not bound by any code of conduct.
- The lessor may amend these terms. Contracts already concluded are governed by the version in effect at the time of their conclusion.
- In the event of any discrepancy between the language versions, the Czech version prevails.
